Under sacred vaults the
chickadee flies
so small it escapes
sanctimonious eyes.
Colored light flashes on his
white cheeks
as he floats high above the
mountainous peaks
of the hats tall and holy that
all bishops wear
to an apple that’s green not
unlike a pear.
He will peck at its peel and
then through the flesh
till the core will reveal
reality’s mesh.
