A gray rabbit hops through a field of flax as farmers bring in the harvest. She wonders after being chased off why flax is spun into shrouds for humans alone. No one mourns the death of a rabbit. The collage consists of patterns from my medieval pattern collection inspired by the background designs in illuminated manuscripts. The rabbit and flax flowers are colored pencil drawn over the top.
This piece measures 8 x 10 inches mounted on canvas panel and has been treated with fixative to last for generations. Comes signed on the back with title. Black plastic frame included, which brings the measurements up to 8.75 x 10.75 inches.
